Tavistock

An ancient market town with lots of shops, a pannier market and many cafes, sitting on the River Tavy. On the edge of beautiful Dartmoor, famed as the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake

After a summer of heat waves we visited Tavistock in August and it was raining, there is plenty of shops and cafes. The Pannier market is definitely worth a visit. There are a number of carparks, some long stay, but we parked at a short stay (3 Hours max) the entrance is by the clock tower pictured.
