On a recent visit to the city, we saw the famous Smeaton tower, parks and the Barbican district. There was some building work on Armada way which will look great when it is finished, progress appears to be quite rapid. A visit to the National Marine Aquarium is a great way to spend a leisurely two or three hours, we found it very relaxing watching the aquatic life swimming around.

Smeaton’s Lighthouse situated on “The Hoe” was built in 1756-59, this originally stood on Eddystone Reef and contructed of dovetail blocks, it was moved between 1882 and 1884 to its current position.
